Julie Hanson

Julie Hanson holds an M.A. in expository writing from the University of Iowa as well as an M.F.A. in poetry from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. Her work has earned awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Vermont  Studio Center, and the West Chester University Conference on Narrative and Form, the 2011 New Ohio Review prize in poetry, the 2010 Robert and Adele Schiff poetry prize at The Cincinnati Review, and publication in The Iowa Review, Poetry Daily, Michigan Quarterly Review, Meridian, Volt, Diode, Crab Orchard Review, and other journals.  She is coordinator of a food buying cooperative in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
